Well here we are on week 5 and I feel I am really making progress this time! Wow i think the free downloads site will be very popular. They certainly will be with me once I purchase a new MP3 player. My last one got damaged on my travels and although it will still play it is a bit battered!

I checked out "ItsFreeDownloads.com and found this very useful Not only can you download music but you can also download some TV shows and some free audiobooks (the choice wasn't much but I will keep an ey on it as there may be some good titles from time to time.

I also checked out Freealbumsblog.com and thought this was a great way to hear new music that I might never find out about. I was intrigued with the Chilean band that was "80's dark electro-pop" Could be interesting.

I alos checked out the MP3.com.au with an Australian focus becuase I thought mu nephewa band The Bon Scotts might be there however it looks like you have to pay to download their music

I have learnt two new things this week. The first is that you can load photos on Twitter - not that I actually did this - it was becuase Stepahnie uploaded photos fot he progress of the Pakuranga Library renovations.

Now tonight I hav ebeen into The Good reads site and signed up. Had problems finding the tour until I went back to MCC instructions for week 4 and clicked on the Tour. i was amazed to see the range of groups.

Looks like another useful Reader's advisory tool for anyone interested in books and reading.

I have signed up to Twitter and already received a porn follower in the 1 second before i managed to tick the privacy box! Sort of think I understand how it works. Not sure how useful it is going to be to me. I will see how this goes over the next few weeks.

Just last night my sister was asking me about Twitter - now I will be able to email her and tell her to watch the video to find out for herself.

I have just noticed that it is actually 2 years since my last post - not one - where DID the time go to!!! I have just used Zamzar to convert a file to PDF. Wow that was easy. Hopefully I have done it correctly.

Well here we are back a year later having another go at understanding this web 2 stuff. Hopefully I get more done this time before I again set off on my travels!

Well after a break of a couple of months and two very enjoyable holidays it is time to continue on the Web 2 journey and complete all the exercises! Hopefully I will get the chance to display some of my photos.

Arrived in Alaska!

Well Trinny arrived in Alaska last night around midnight. Arrived very hungry as United Airlines don't serve food on flights departing after 8pm so dinner was 2 small packets of Pretzels - that was all that was available on a 4 and half hour flight! Made the most of the complimentary breakfast this morning!

Raining when we arrived, thankfully today was fine and sunny. Didn't get going until noon as went back to bed for a couple of hours sleep after breakfast! Went on an hour long city tour to get the feel of the place, Spent a few hours at the Museum and art gallery. Some really interesting exhibts about the history of Alaska. Also a great exhibition on the Yuungnaqpiallerput and their way of life - how they incorporate their culture and theo;ld ways of living into their lives today.

Have just been downtown for dinner - had a lovely red salmon chowder.

Free internet at the hotel so I am doing my emails to keep my self awake.

An aside - all the airports have places for people to plug in their laptops and work. This hotel has wireless and internet is free. I think this is what we should be providing also! Oh well off to watch some American TV.

To get this to work I had to download Java to my home PC - had thought I had already done that some time ago. Everything takes me longer than I think it should.

Finally got my RSS link to work with help from Danielle. Now it is on to Week 3! I have logged in several times through the week but all my time is taken up reading everyones blog ans that has meant that I haven't had time to play as yet!
I must not get sidetracked this week as I need to make progress before I fly away on my travels!

Am trying to get thtough a few lessons before I fly off on my next travels however it has taken me over an hour to stumble around RSS lesson. Still not sure it I have done what is required. One of the feeds contains the weather at my holiday destination so I can keep an eye on how it is going - maybe that will help me to reduce the amount of luggage I take (somehow I don't think so!)
